What is the Solar System?

The Solar System consists of the Sun and everything that orbits around it, including planets, moons, comets, asteroids, and more. The eight planets are divided into two groups: the inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars) and the outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune). These planets revolve around the Sun due to its gravitational pull.

Planets in the Solar System

• Mercury: The smallest planet, closest to the Sun.
• Venus: Known as Earth's twin due to its similar size, but with a toxic atmosphere.
• Earth: Our home, the only known planet to support life.
• Mars: Known as the Red Planet, it is home to the tallest volcano and largest canyon in the Solar System.
• Jupiter: The largest planet, a gas giant with a Great Red Spot, a massive storm that has been raging for hundreds of years.
• Saturn: Famous for its beautiful ring system made of ice and rock particles.
• Uranus: A gas giant that rotates on its side.
• Neptune: The farthest planet from the Sun, known for its intense blue color and strong winds.
