Understanding Volume & Surface Area
Volume is the amount of space inside a 3D shape. It is measured in cubic units.
Surface Area is the total area of all the surfaces of a 3D shape. It is measured in square units.
Here are some common formulas:
- Cube: Volume = side³, Surface Area = 6 × side²
- Cylinder: Volume = π × radius² × height, Surface Area = 2 × π × radius × (height + radius)
- Sphere: Volume = 4/3 × π × radius³, Surface Area = 4 × π × radius²
