Understanding Graphing Equations
When you graph an equation, you're plotting all the points that satisfy that equation. For example:
- Linear Equation (y = mx + b): A straight line.
- Quadratic Equation (y = ax² + bx + c): A parabola (U-shaped curve).
- Cubic Equation (y = ax³ + bx² + cx + d): A curve with more twists.
- Exponential Equation (y = a * b^x): A rapidly increasing/decreasing curve.
- Logarithmic Equation (y = log(x)): A slow increasing curve with a vertical asymptote.
- Absolute Value Equation (y = |x|): A "V" shaped graph.
