What is Scientific Notation? 🔭

**Scientific notation** is a way of writing very large or very small numbers using powers of 10. It makes numbers easier to read, write, and work with. It's written in the form:

  $$a \times 10^b$$

Where **a** is a number between 1 and 10 (it can be 1 but not 10). This is called the **coefficient**. **b** is an integer called the **exponent** or **order of magnitude**.

If the original number is **large** (greater than 10), the exponent is **positive**.   If the original number is **small** (between 0 and 1), the exponent is **negative**.
