Formulas

The area of a shape is the amount of two-dimensional space it covers. The formulas for parallelograms and triangles are directly related!

The area of a **parallelogram** is the product of its base and its height. $$A = b \times h$$

The area of a **triangle** is half the product of its base and its height. This is because a triangle is always half of a parallelogram. $$A = \frac{1}{2} \times b \times h$$
