2nd Grade Lesson: Numbers to 1000

📖 Introduction

In 2nd grade, we learn numbers all the way up to 1000! Numbers are grouped into hundreds, tens, and ones. For example:
527 = 5 hundreds + 2 tens + 7 ones.

🧮 Practice: Numbers to 1000

What number comes after 249?
What number comes before 600?
Fill in the missing number: 700, 710, ___, 730

In 2nd grade, we expand from counting to 100 all the way up to 1,000! Numbers are organized into hundreds, tens, and ones. A chart can help us see patterns as numbers grow larger.

How to Do It

• Numbers 1–9 are the building blocks. • After 9 comes 10, then 20, 30, and so on until 100. • Hundreds stack on top: 100, 200, 300 … all the way to 1000. • Look at the number chart below to see the order and patterns!
